The Slewing Arm Davit (SLAD) is designed for the launching, retrieving, and stowage of Rigid Hull
Inflatable Boats
(RHIB) up to Sea State 5. They can also be used for retrieval of other objects from the water.
The Slewing Arm Davit (SLAD) has steel construction with a low radar cross section design and is
hydraulically powered
with the Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) protected inside the pedestal. The davit is rated for a 5,700-pound
load and is
designed to handle both single and double RHIB configurations.
