The Stern Ramp is a hydraulically powered, bi-folding aluminium ramp installed on the aft end of the
ship, designed for
on/off-load capability. It is capable of interfacing with Roll-on/Roll-off Discharge Facilities (RRDF),
piers, quay
walls and other austere on- and off-load facilities.
The Stern Ramp can slew from dead astern to 45 degrees from the vessel’s centreline towards the
starboard, supporting
loads associated with the M1A2 Abrams MBT and a fully loaded M1070 Military Truck with Trailer. Raised
bars run the
width and length of the ramp to ensure proper traction during all operations.
