The Stores Elevator is designed as a compete drop-in module, located at frame 95 and serving the Main
Deck, 2nd Deck,
and 2nd Platform. It is designed to provide vertical movement of individual pallet loads of provisions
between handling
areas and freeze, chill, and dry provisions storerooms.
The Stores Elevator can handle a maximum load of 6,000-pounds and can move a load at 100 feet per
minute. The elevator
system includes the controls to operate the elevator and doors, support safe handling of stores, and
automatically
regulate travel speed and direction of the platform within the trunk. The Stores Elevator is a dispatch
type that can
only be sent to another level from the platform’s current location, to ensure the safety of personnel
during normal or
maintenance operations.
